One Watcher’s mate was shot and is struggling to
stay alive, and another’s has been kidnapped by a
psycho vampire.
As if things weren’t chaotic enough, the society of
Watchers has its hands full with protecting the city
during the annual fireworks show.
In the midst of the Cell’s turmoil, Rayne is called out
to investigate the sighting of a black wolf in the
Charlestown Indiana State Park. A wolf whose only
victims have been Rogues.
On her sixteenth birthday, Sumanitu Taka Wiya, or
Suma for short, was given a gift, but it wasn’t a car
as some lucky teenagers receive. The Spirits gifted
her with a major responsibility─the protection of her
people against evil─vampires. The same evil that
killed her parents when she was five years old.
At age twenty-three, Suma keeps within the shadows,
ousted years ago by those she had vowed to protect.
Her secret had been discovered and now she is
feared. Suma is a Skinwalker. Her Totem Spirit─the
black wolf.
A chance encounter between Rayne and Suma at the
state park does not go well when Suma discovers
Rayne is a vampire. Rayne also has another secret,
one he has shared with no one. One laced with shame.
